We live in a network society,
interconnected through digital technology
and fueled by the knowledge economy.
Our most local needs such as food, water, and health
happen to be humanity’s most urgent challenges.
So, what is the role of the land-grant university
in the 21st century?
We have the potential to be a
scholarship node
developing globally minded citizens
ready to communicate across cultures
and work for the public good.
It is up to us to transform that potential into actual capacity
And the first step is no secret:
